Hi all.
I have been using Foxfi for wireless tethering for many months now, and it has worked flawlessly up until last night. I am posting here to see if anyone else is having the problem I am, or if there is a solution available.
My device is a Samsung GSIII AT&T version(i747) running Android 4.0.4.
Baseband version: I747UCLI5
Kernal Version:
3.0.8-1090264

Build: IMM76D.I747UCALI5.
The problem I have is this specifically: I can open either of the tethering apps (foxfi or pdanet) just fine, but when I go to select 'Activate WiFi Hotspot' it starts then stays at 'Verifying Internet Connection...'. it will remain here for a moment then a pop-up will appear that says 'Internet not detected on your phone. Please make sure you have good data service and try again.' Fact of the matter is I DO have internet data connection, as I am able to surf websites and watch youtube videos etc. on my phone. Ive even done a speed test to verify that I am connected.
Both apps give me the same message after trying to activate the hotspot- the phone(or app) thinks it does not have internet access.
I have tried the following in attempt to fix the issue myself:
- Reboot phone.
- Turn off phone and remove battery, remove sim card; then reinsert both.
- Turn on/off airplane mode.
- Turn on/off Wifi.
- Submit email to Pdanet/foxfi.
I am at wits end with this issue and getting very frustrated. I need Internet to do my work and this has really put a damper on my productivity.
Not sure if related, but when i try to go to foxfi's or pdanet's website on my phone it will not load the webpage at all, no matter what. But any other site will load flawlessly.
I would tremendously appreciate any and all help concerning this matter..I really need my tethering back.
Thanks.
