[Q] device continuously powered on and heating

Dear All,
I'm working on a project where I'm using an android phone to monitor changes in temperature.
my device works properly in my lab.
But when it is out in the field after about 8 hours on continuous use the phone gives a message saying "Cannot charge the battery since the temperature is high".
Is there any way to have an android device without the battery?
My phone is continuously using 3g to stream the data back to the lab and is constantly connected to a power source.

Has anybody come across a similar situation where they needed the device to be continuously on?
