Hello, all! I recently got a brand new Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge AT&T Model (SM-935A) from Best Buy, and I somehow decided to root it (Me being an iPhone user, I don't know anything about Android). Anyway, I ended up rooting the phone, and later, a Samsung Update popped up. Right after I denied it, my main apps (Caller ID Name, and Google Play Store) began to crash and fail to start up at all. Nothing was working as all apps were crashing. When I pushed restart on the phone, it booted through the 'custom' logo, then to the AT&T logo, where it stayed like that for hours. I noticed how hot the phone turned and put it in the refrigerator (After all, the phone is waterproof, right? ;_;). I searched on the internet, and there I found that I could full-wipe the phone out, which seemed reasonable to me, as I had not completely decked out the phone, yet. So after full-resetting the phone, I still saw the 'custom' logo, and all of my content was gone. As usual, I downloaded, and put back all of my accounts, and soon enough, another update came round, and my phone broke down... Again. So I repeated that step of wiping out my phone again. This happened about 3 more times until I decided to flash-fix my phone, or something akin to that term. I downloaded the required files of ODIN and software from this website, but instead, it still failed with the 'ODIN protocol version failed!' error. I do not understand this issue nor do I know how to fix it. I hear that XDA is the world's best developers at Android or something so I have come here as a FINAL RESORT! Medion Lifetab P7332 How can i find a rom to unbrick my device?
I have rooted my device and uninstalled some apks. When i restart my device after that it stuck at lifetab logo. I need a rom to install my device doesn't matter its stock or not. I find some apk files from another medion roms but i can't install them because of device closed,offline errors in adb. In medions web site there is a quell code is it possible to make a rom from it ?

Bricked Prestigio Multipad Wize 3057 3G
Hello everyone,
I have rooted my tablet using kingroot and was removing the unused built-in apps. I might have remove some system core apps.
Now the tablet keeps rebooting at the logo. It does not even get to the launcher.
I can get into recovery mode.
I was thinking of installing the firmware again but I cannot find it anywhere.
The closest I found is Prestigio Multipad Wize 3047 3G. (Mine is 3057, this firmware is 3047).
Can I still install this firmware?
Here are the Spec:

Coming from iOS and have a few questions
Hello,
I ditched my iPhone 6s Plus for a Oneplus 3, but have some questions:
- I have Nova Launcher installed. When listening to music using Spotify and tapping on "Close all apps", I dont want it to close Spotify as it is playing music.
- I have Jacks Music Widget installed. I want it to to open Spotify when tapping on it (I configured it this way in Settings), but it always opens Tidal.

[Q&A] Unknown Folders / Files "ver_data" "ve_kd5_pa" in Download Folder
Hi There,
i have a major Problem which nags me since nearly a week and i hope anyone can help me solving it.
Since nearly one week there are appearing two folders with three files in my Download folder. Even after Deletion they come back after a while. Sometimes after 12-16 hours.
Please see attached imgages and the Zip with the Files for Details.
The problem first occured pretty much in the time of 27.07.2016. The same day my Playstore and Play Services where updated the last time with some other apps too.
I don`t think that its comes from a malware, cause i intsalled nothing new since months and no unknown sources. I even checked my system with different scanners like eset and avast. with no result.
But as you look into the attached Files with a text editor, it seems that this is a list of apps or urls or something similar created by some app.
Well i don`t like having unknown files in Such often Used Folders like Download especially when they come back after Deleting.
The Problem is that i can`t find out which app creates them. ( If i find out i delete This crappy programmed app imediately)
Can anyone help me or give me hints how to find out which app creates these Files/folders?

ETAB M7023G update from Android 4.4.2 to newer version help required
I bought a 7" tablet from a retail store, but it won't update to a newer version of android using the update options on the device.
It appears to have a custom chinese version at the moment.

making custom kernel ?

trying to compile my first kernel, i have some questions i hope you can answer
First, here is the kernel source code of my phone (http://opensource.samsung.com/recept...Value=SM-G903F)
Second i use UberTC toolchain 4.9.4
Questions:
- Is it possible to update kernel (base is 3.10.67). According to kernel.org, 3.18 is available but dunno how to update.
- How to include i/o sch, gpu gov ?
- About adding cpu gov, do we need to take existing file from an already modified kernel with same processor ?
- How to add synapse / stweaks ... support ?
- Where to find commits from toolchains ? How to patch source code toolchain ?

How can I unpack or flash this ROM?
I'm using an Empire ElectroniX D709 tablet, running Android 4.0.4. It's an old low-spec device, and I'm planning to use this device to improve my Android hacking skills.
I've asked the manufacturers to send me the stock ROM, which they did. Pretty cool!
The problem is that there's no flashing tool or instructions included, and the staff I spoke with did not know how to flash it either.
So now I'm on my own, with a big image file I don't know how to flash.
I tried to start a development thread at the Miscelleaneous Android Development section, but because I have almost no posts, I can't post there. So maybe this is a good place to ask. How can I flash or unpack this image?

SM-G900H 6.0.1 Chainfire Root
Hello guys...
I'm new on the forum as a registered member so I tried replying to the Chainfire root thread but couldn't because I'm not an 'expert' yet. So basically the title says it all, SM-G900H is always the last Galaxy S5 to get updates so I would like to know if Chainfire's been working on a root for this specific device.
Would appreciate help and thanks in advance!

How to root samsung device without getting custom binary blocked by frp error
Hey there
I hadd my j5 500fn version for a month its on android lollipop 5.1.1
I tried to root it yesterday and it wasnt that nice
I tried rooting by removing google account and enable usb debugging mode and rooted using the odin method with cf root file
As soon as it finished it rebooted with a yellow "set warranty bit:kernel" message on left top of the device name and it all went fine and root checker said it was rooted and could use all root apps but then i tried adding the google account again and restarted my device and then got the custom binary blocked by frp error
I solved that error by flashing the official stock rom again and then i tried rooting again and got the same problem again
It seems like i cant root with a google account and without it i cant install any google play apps
Any suggestion???

Location services alternatives?
I am running CM of Lollipop without Gapps. I have been able to find substitutes for most google services. But location based apps wont work. I figured this is because they use google play services' location api instead of the AOSP's location service. Is there a way to change them to use the default location service or is there a perfect swap for google's services that can emulate google's location service for the apps to run.

no access sdcard0

coming from cm10.1 i updated this morning to ResurrectionRemix-M-v5.7.2-20160801-i9100 on my i9100. I also used a pit file to change the arrangement of the partitions (1gb+6gb data) and installed gapps-nano.
Now i wanted to import my backups from Signal so for that i told Signal to export all its data so that i know where to put my data, but unfortunately Signal was not able to write. The error message is:
"Kein Schreibzugriff auf Gerätespeicher." -> "No write permission on device (space/memory/storage)."
In settings -> storage and USB i have
under "internal storage" 3.04 GB of 8.00 GB used
under "mobile storage"
sdcard0 / vfat
damaged
and my additional SD-card
When i try to repair and format my sdcard0 it it tells me "command 16 volume partition disk: 179_0 failed with '400 18 Command failed'.
What is the problem and how can i import my files to Signal.
One additional point:
I cant access the phone storage from my pc, only the sd-card is accessable.

and I tried to flash it by Fastboot command after but the device in RUU mode give me this error:

Invalid sparse file format at header magi
and fastboot.exe crashes
and I tried to flash it by Recovery
when selecting (apply from SDCard) and press the power button the device write the following:
Check cid failed!
--Invalid operation--"
Then immediately reboot into OS

The device keep restarting and low response when I checked it . a software issue
I get the stock firmware zip file
