Hello everyone.

I have a rooted android stick (RK3066). It doesn't have Bluetooth.

I have successfully set this stick as a Wifi-Hotspot (i.e: a wireless router) and my android phone already connected to this android stick easily (for many reasons, I prefer this set-up over others).

Problem is: I cannot find any app or boot-script (including Tasker) that AT-BOOT-TIME enables the Wifi-Hotspot .

Has anyone ever USED an app/script that AT-BOOT-TIME auto-turn-on the Wifi-Hotspot setting ?

Hi there,

I am trying to connect to ad-hoc networks from my Xiaomi MI2A (AOSP 4.4.4) but I cannot even see these type of networks. I modified the file /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf, adding:

network={
ssid=" ad_hoc_name"
scan_ssid=1
key_mgmt=NONE
priority=1
mode=1
}

But it did not work.

Any suggestion? Any patch?

Hi,

Someone on this forum (XDA) made a CM 12.1 launcher but without an appdrawer some time ago. I searched the entire Apps and Games section but I couldn't find it. It was something like Launcher X or like that (don't be confused with the actual Launcher X on the Play Store). Has anyone know who is the developer or has anyone the .apk of the launcher ?

I am wanting to flash 5.1 Lollipop on my SM-G900T, I am using TWRP 3.0.0 and I am not sure if I need to check the boxes to backup the Recovery partition and Modem partition. I am backing up to a USB drive.

Hello,

I'm helping Droid4X devs fixing bugs. I'm trying to get the working Korean language from other devices but there are no customization or csc folder in /system because those are for Samsung deviecs only. The Korean language is blank so i need to take the Korean language from my real device and put it in the emulator

So where is the location of language packs for normal Android ROM?

I spend 30 minutes looking for answer but no answers. Google is stupid to search things like that

I've been using LBE Security Master for the longest time, and its mainly due to its very useful component which is the SMS keyword blacklist which automatically deletes any message if my blacklisted keyword is in them.

Unfortunately during the upgrade to Lollipop, LBE is now making my phone extremely sluggish to use. I was thinking of switching to Xprivacy for the privacy settings, however I have not found any equivalent app for sms keyword blacklisting. I've tried at least 20 apps that proclaimed to do just that, but they all failed. Can anyone direct me to an actual app that can solve my problem?

I have searched far and wide for a way to get around this, but it's shocked me how difficult it is to find somewhat trustworthy information.

I recently rooted my I337 while on 5.0 and then 5.1 with Kingroot. Unfortunately, it would sometimes require me to root again if I had to reboot. No harm done, its 3 minutes out of my life and I couldn't find an easy solution besides using another program (and nothing else worked for this model, i tried). Not long ago, I had to reboot, and when it was booting again, I got what appears to be a soft-brick: "System software not authorized by att was found on the phone". Now, I have a couple of options. Back up my ENTIRE phone data and wipe the system normally, or the option I was hoping for - Flashing a stock rom with Odin or a similar software without losing any data. This issue is obviously found with the OS, so if I can replace the OS without losing data, my problem is solved with little-to-no effort. Most tutorials I have found, however, are for 4.x.x devices, very outdated, or don't apply to my specific issue. I'm trying to be careful because I DON'T want to break my phone long term; I could've probably attempted one of these but don't want to without proper technical expertise that I don't have.

If there are any other details needed, I will get back quickly. I'm 5.1 on i337 and want to flash a stock OS without losing data. Should be easy, but I'm stupid and overly cautious.

EDIT: I really don't care if I'm reinstalling 4.2 or whatever on my phone, since I can re-upgrade immediately afterwards and it becomes irrelevant. If this is untrue, let me know, but I don't need to use a 5.x Rom iirc.

Edit2: Continuing to research and found that flashing the original stock Rom will not wipe any data...Even if its from a different version. I'm already in the process of downloading a stock i337 rom with 4.4.2, but I want to verify that it won't wipe my data, so if anybody can confirm this for me, that would be great.

Hello guys. So, to make a long story short, I would like to know if it is possible to emulate the android camera from a video stream/another video source. In the event of facebook live videos, i would like to make some live transmisions from a stream (some kind of youtube live). The problem is that you can make this kind of things (for now) only from facebook app. So: facebook acces the camera, but i would like to trick the app into accesing another video source. I understand that this would not be possible on a phone, but maybe there's a solution on Remix OS or an android emulator.

So, is there a solution to this problem?

So i have bought this phone couple days ago
when i started using it i firstly noticed that colors flicker bit they dont change colors or anything just getting darker and brighter... and yes i have disabled auto brightness
im not sure if its the screen or the OS or app
the os is lollipop Android 5.1
anyone else with other phones or same phones same problems?
i have noticed also that some apps dont flicker like that probably the darker colors they use i guess?

Samsung S5. Root

I can receive SMS messages but can't respond just gets hung up sending and fails.

Tried with NoRoot Firewall and Firewall Gold

Whenever I try to send an audio note in a WhatsApp group, iOS users can't play them. Android users can play and listen to it but iPhone users cant. Although if i send audio no tes directly the the iPhone user (a.k.a private message) the person can listen/play it.

Anyone else experiencing this issue ? Should I change app permission ?

Hey guys,

I'm from Germany but currently for about 5 months in new zealand. I Judas to buy a new phone cause my old one decided to not charge anymore, so I decided for the Huawei P8.

Now my question: Is there a way to change the firmware to an europe one? Cause of the regional infornation in the firnware. Are there any European Android M firmwares already leaked which I could install? (Best would be German but open for everything)
If I can't install an european one, are there any from Asia which are good with my requirements?

I would be very happy of someone could help me with that.

Traded phone for phone with someone from Craigslist, phone worked fine, it died as I was walking back phone, got home, put it on the charger to do a factory reset, went into the settings panel, hit reset, it restarted the phone and got stuck where it is at now.

hey,

i have been playing around with a few custom roms on my s3, tried to install CM11 messed it up, and installed a stock rom back over it, the phone was working fine on CM, but the battery would drain quick, random restarts, signal dropping ect. this carried on even when i flashed the stock rom back onto it, i have managed to find a kernel that has fixed all these problems

The only problem i have been having is when the phone is turned off and charging, i cant turn the phone on, if i unplug the charger the charging screen stays on, it turns on normally after i take the battery out, and also charges absolutely fine when its turned on.

i was wondering if anyone had any idea what this could be?

Hey, I was able to get root on my Y538. But when I tried to delete some bloatware and restart the phone I got stuck in a bootloop. I'm thinking I may be able to fix this issue by sideloading the Y538 kernel from the EMUI site. But I'm having trouble downloading the file.

Has anyone else in the history of the world had this issue before??? I could really use some help here cuz this is kinda my cellular device...

Tried posting the link to the Kernel I need. But I'm unable to. Just search Huawei EMUI Y538 Kernel. It should come up.

Over the years on various devices and versions of Android and with various SMS apps, I have on rare occasions run into an issue where I cannot retrieve an MMS message from my carrier, which has almost always been T-Mobile USA.

The current example shows up like this in Hangouts:

Says "New MMS message to download: size is xxxxKB, expires on mm/dd, hh:mm. Message not downloaded. Tap to retry"

And when I try to "tap to retry", it claims to be downloading but always reverts to the above state:

Says "Downloading" for a short time

Definitely seems to happen when I had a weak signal at the point when I first received the MMS.
Any idea how to fix this? If I switch to a different default SMS app, will that app be aware of this un-downloaded MMS and give me an opportunity to download it, or will it be lost? Is this a carrier issue or a device issue? My device is rooted. Many people have posted all over the place about this issue but the answers are widely varied so there seems to be no clear solution. I have not messed with my APN settings. Most MMS are received without issue.

Note: Nexus 6P running 6.0.1 stock (rooted) with Hangouts 8.0.116581895

Hi Everyone.I have Nexus S I9023. And i can't unlock bootloader. My phone , unfortunately, he fell into bootloop . And I do not have the option to run , among other things debug mode . I tried to rescue the phone via adb update in recovery . but my phone pops up that the installation was interrupted .
When I got the phone in fastboot mode by typing it in the CMD , " fastboot devices" , the command I find my phone , and fastboot oem unlock does not want to work. I have installed the SDK , drivers also have google . What to do?

Tonight Nintendo has first released their Miitomo app exclusively to Japan, however the app apparently already has a full English translation.
Unfortunately it does not appear to run on rooted devices, as reported by a few users here. One user reported success with RootCloak, however others and myself have not had such success. I have a Galaxy S5 with CyanogenMod 13.0. The app starts with a black screen for a second before crashing back to the home screen. Tried clearing any cached data for the app. Any other ideas?
